Relieving Chiropractic Care Relief of Oxford Leg Pain Right or Left

Right leg. Left leg. Sciatic leg pain will affect either leg (and sometimes both). Oxford chiropractic care at Satterwhite Chiropractic helps decrease leg pain and addresses the spinal source of the sciatica at the same time. Satterwhite Chiropractic guides Oxford leg pain and back pain patients to pain relief with chiropractic care.

SCIATIC LEG PAIN: Right Leg or Left Leg

You’ve heard of right-handed people and left-handed people, right? Of course, you have! Did you know that the left leg grows longer in right-handed people and the right leg grows longer in left-handed people? Not 100% of the time, but research has it documented in pretty high percentages. Bearing this in mind, it is not surprising that there are more people with longer left legs (53%) than right legs (39%). Incredibly, only 8% of people have equal leg lengths. (1) What role does that play in which leg will have sciatic leg pain? Discs will bulge into the concavity of the curve owing to a range of issues like uneven stresses on the anulus of the disc. The concavity of the spinal curve is on the long leg side. A right-handed person with a long left leg will likely have left leg pain. Another interesting point: hip pain often arises on the long leg side, too: 88.9% long leg and 11.1% short leg. Sciatica, too: 78.5% happens on the long leg side versus 21.5% on the short leg side. (2,3) Your Oxford chiropractor can measure a short leg pretty simply by checking 3 things: iliac crest, the verticality of the spine, and levelness of the posterosuperior iliac spine dimples. Researchers noted that there is a strong relationship between visual and xray measurements. (4) Trust your Oxford chiropractor to see a short leg…and address any related disc herniation sources of pain!

DISC HERNIATION RE-ABSORPTION WITH NON-SURGICAL CARE

A new study studied 75 cases of ruptured lumbar disc herniation. 46 of the 75 cases experienced radiating leg pain: 46 cases on the left and 29 on the right. (Makes sense now, right?) At 5 years follow-up after non-surgical treatment, a “reabsorption” phenomenon was seen. The excellent and good rate of disc reabsorption was 73.24%. (5) Satterwhite Chiropractic provides pain easing non-surgical care of Oxford leg pain and back pain.

RELIEF FOR Oxford LEG PAIN and BACK PAIN

And then remember the new paper about the benefits of chiropractic maintenance care: Maintenance care reduces the number of days of pain in acute back pain episodes and raises the length of pain-free periods between recurrent back pain episodes of persistent back pain. (6) Satterwhite Chiropractic is ready for those back pain and leg pain patients seeking fewer back and leg pain days and those who would like to live life with fewer periods of leg and back pain.
